Anyone fancy joining me in a 21 Day Meditation for Weight Loss Challenge?
I soooo need this – having a 9 week old baby means things are pretty hectic and ‘me-time’ is snatched so not really as restorative as it may otherwise be (although on the plus side I savour things I never used to even consider – like a 6h stretch of unbroken sleep, finishing a workout and getting to stretch, having a bath etc!).
Meditation is the missing piece for so many of us (me included, I am terrible at making time for it) as we fill our heads with so much ‘stuff’ we can’t see the woods for the trees!
When we empty our minds the good stuff has the chance to surface!
In fact it was during a meditation while on holiday after yoga that I decided to ditch the management consultancy job and retrain to be a Personal Trainer!
And when it comes to weight loss we let our minds sabotage our efforts repeatedly. The noise and chatter – the monkey mind – needs switching off sometimes, so we can feel calm and at peace with ourselves for one thing. Dissolving stress is key too, after a stressful day we are waaaay more likely to pour a glass of wine, serve too many comfort carbs or say ‘go on then’ to yet another un-needed dessert!
So when this challenge from the Gabriel Method team hit my inbox it was just what I needed – and I hope you can join me!
You get free access to short (under 10 mins – vital for me longer aint gonna happen!!) daily meditations designed to aid your weight loss – but I have no doubt there will be numerous other benefits – decreased stress and anxiety, improved productivity and clarity, better energy and overall wellbeing (at a guess!)
I’ve posted about it in the Slim Down and Feel Awesome Facebook Group (if you haven’t joined why not?! You get all my nutrition materials completely FREE!!!) so we can share our experiences with it there.
The Gabriel Method itself is a great book I have recommended to people for a long time, you can actually get a free chapter to see if its your thing, but its all about getting your mind working for you, as well as strategies to help you stay on track. Gabriel Method Free Chapter.
